Raising an early round? Tell us about it.
We write pre-seed and seed checks and respond to every application. Here's what we look for, how the process works, and where to start.
What we look for
A real problem
Customers who feel the pain today, not a market that might exist later.
Early proof
Revenue, pilots, signed LOIs, or usage that shows someone wants this.
A team that ships
Founders with domain depth and a bias toward getting things out the door.
A sensible raise
A round sized to reach a clear next milestone, on terms a group of angels can say yes to.
How the process works
Founders apply, a partner champions, the group diligences, members decide. You'll know where you stand at every step.
Apply
Ten-minute online application. A deck helps; a polished one doesn't matter.
Partner review
Every application goes into a queue all partners can see. If one of them raises a hand to champion your deal, it moves forward. If no one does, we pass — and we'll tell you.
Champion call
A 30-minute call with the partner championing your deal. They'll tell you quickly whether it's a fit for our members.
Diligence & pitch
Your champion leads diligence with the partner group, then you present to members at a pitch meeting.
SPV & close
Members opt in, we form the SPV, and you get one line on your cap table.
Apply for funding
About ten minutes. A partner reads every application. Prefer email? info@startsomethingventures.com
